Included talented stable mates Said Com and Tromso in the initial list of 27 hopefuls for Friday’s main event, Waller told TVN that Said Com remains a possibility of appearing on track; however confirmed Tromso will not be making the trip.

“I’d say we’re unlikely to have a runner in the Scone Cup” Waller said.

“It all depends on what pays up for the race.

“Maybe Said Com, but he’s only 50/50, we’ll just see what’s left in and make a decision later in the week.”

Claiming an impressive total of four wins and 12 places from 31 competitive starts to date, Said Com has steadily built to the task at hand this time in, finishing eighth amongst classy company in the Group 3 Sebring Stakes (1200m) first-up before being unlucky when blocked for a run in both the TAB Early Quaddie (1400m) and Power Access Maiden (1350m) most recently, despite still finishing in good position.

A consistent performer since debuting on track in the spring of 2009, Tromso contested a particularly strong 2013 racing calendar; unlucky to finish second in both the Filante Handicap (1500m) and Gardenia Handicap (1400m), and poking clear to win the Listed Ladies Day Cup (1400m) on November 7th.

Beginning his current season in the best way possible, the Lonhro gelding overcame poor running position to charge home and claimed the Power Access Maiden by nearly a length on May 10th.

Each given a chance for success in the 2014 Scone Cup, Tromso’s most recent appearance has led to the exciting seven-year-old featuring as the sole occupant of the second line of betting for success this Friday, while Said Com is currently tied on the fifth line.

A standout performer of the in-form Team Hawkes stable, Leebaz is currently clear favourite to add the 2014 Scone Cup to a growing list of Australian racing honours.
